DeLuxe Building Systems on Display at the International Hotel Motel & Restaurant Show

by Rachel Ten Eyck 13. November 2009 08:40

DeLuxe Building Systems participated in the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) fall conference and the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) in New York City November 6-10.   The 5-day event included informative seminars, networking events and a 3-day trade show.

What a spectacular event!  At a time when the hospitality industry is experiencing unprecedented challenges, the true spirit of the industry was on display. Sure, revenues are down, financing is scarce and the speed of recovery is questionable at best. But, the industry put its best foot forward at this event with innovative new energy-efficient products, creative new sustainable designs and a renewed commitment to providing an extraordinary experience for the customer with every stay.

So what does all of this have to do with DeLuxe Building Systems? Well, based on our discussions with various owners, developers and property managers DeLuxe Building Systems innovative, sustainable, off-site, steel-framed modular construction process truly is the ideal choice for hotel development today and far into the future.

Hoteliers appreciate the simplified approach to hotel construction with DeLuxe. Guaranteed pricing, reduced construction time, and a finished hotel that is superior in both quality and value are just a few of the many reasons owners and developers are choosing DeLuxe Building Systems for their next hotel project. And yes, there are hotels being built in 2010.

DeLuxe is extremely proud to be a part of the hospitality industry.  As AH&LA celebrates its first 100 years and prepares for what is sure to be an exciting new century of business, we look forward to the opportunity to be an integral part of the growth and prosperity that lies ahead for the hospitality industry.

Sound like a great event I wish I could have joined.

Innovation is definitely the name of the game nowadays … alternative suppliers are too readily available for simply being 'local' to make a difference in someone's buying decision. I would have thought that an off-site construction process was quite inefficient, though?

We also find that the hospitality industry is very concerned about sustainability, innovation … and of course, cost effectiveness in architecture and design. It seems that steel framing is the way to go for the building base, and carpet tiles achieve the same ends on the floor Smile

Sounds as if the conference was a huge success all round. Let’s hope that the problems that have beset the hospital industry in the past two year are now behind us and the move forward will be to expansion in the industry.

I'm glad the expo went well. It's so great to see how industries face the challenges ahead, and this expo was really useful in understanding the work to do. Sustainability and energy economy are become so important these days, and the industry can definitely save money in these quarters with the new construction solutions that are popping up everywhere.

Your business seems to have very good ideas to help hotel and resort owners. Being energy-efficient is really important to me, and I am glad to see that construction companies see the same way these days. Are you going to show anywhere else soon?

Expansion is a bit difficult to consider these days, but improvement and better energy efficiency is definitely in the works. Can you work with infrastructure that's already there, or do you only do new projects from scratch?

I know someone who's dealt with DeLuxe before and who was very satisfied with the service. Your company was very helpful in increasing the energy efficiency of his hotel. I will make sure to call on you next time I need to renovate one of my properties!

I find the logic really interesting here.  Why, given today's economics, would they be building at such a rate?  Why not slow it down, cut costs, and pass that savings on to customers, and grow business that way?

DeLuxe actually does not do renovations...we're a modular construction company that utilizes offsite construction methods to build hotels (among other multi-family structures). We can, however, add onto an existing structure.
As far as new construction for hotels, the economy has certainly stalled many projects as existing hotels try to regroup; but as the economy rebounds, we expect construction to pick back up. Now is certainly the time to get in ahead of everyone else, and start preparing to build as demand slowly increases.
